As you begin to focus on my voice, you might notice thoughts drifting through your mind, or perhaps you're already noticing how the thoughts seem to slow down, or maybe they're speeding up, or possibly both at the same time. [Pause 5 seconds] And while you're noticing your thoughts, you might become aware of your breathing, or maybe you'll become aware of your breathing after you notice how comfortable you're feeling, but before you realize that comfort can deepen even further. [Pause 6 seconds] And it's interesting how the mind can focus on multiple sensations simultaneously, yet also focus on nothing at all, creating a peculiar state of awareness that grows more comfortable with each passing moment. [Pause 7 seconds] As you listen to my words, you might find yourself getting confused about whether you're becoming more relaxed or more aware, and that confusion itself can be quite relaxing. [Pause 8 seconds] And perhaps you're wondering whether it's your mind that's relaxing first, or your body, or whether they're relaxing together, or separately, or in some other way entirely.
